Ippudo , mid valley

second store in Malaysia at the prestigious Gardens Mall in the Mid Valley area. There are new items introduced into the menu for The Gardens outlet, including IPPUDO’s Veggie Noodle, our first vegetarian ramen for the Malaysian market. Other items include our best-selling Chef Specials.

Just like their Pavilion KL outlet, there is often a queue outside this outlet too. We feel lucky Because it started to get busy only after we were seated so we managed to skip the queue. The outlet is pretty compact...

There are 3 broths to choose from - original Tonkotsu (Shiromaru Motoaji), special miso blend (Akamaru Shinaji) and spicy Karaka miso (Spicy Karaka-men). For lunch on weekdays, they do a special Ippudo Combo Set which offers 1 bowl of ramen + 1 side dish or dessert + 1 green tea for RM29.90++.
Takana Chashu Rice
Sake Kani Salad
Teriyaki Chicken Bun
Shiromaru Motoaji
Karaka-Men
Akamaru Shinaji
Fried - Pan Gyoza
Curry Cheese Harumaki
Buta Karaage
Among the list, I have always prefer their Karaka-men – original tonkotsu based broth with special spicy miso, cashew nuts and ground pork.
Japan's famous Ippudo is special for its a rich, milky reduction of pork bones without the overpowering smell and taste of pork. If you prefer your ramen flavours subtle, the signature Shiromaru Motoaji is a delicate beige broth of melting belly chashu, green onions, kikurage (a type of fungi) and a flavoured egg. Mix in sesame seeds and fresh garlic (which you can request for) for a more heady flavour in the broth. The strength at Ippudo lies in its noodles; the waiting staffs ask you if you like it well-cooked or al dente and always go for the latter for a springy, addictive result.
